There was an uproar on the twitter world yesterday when Rep. Randy Weber (Republican for Texas) compared President Obama to Adolf Hitler. This is what he tweeted: "Even Adolph Hitler thought it more important than Obama to get to Paris. (For all the wrong reasons.) Obama couldn't do it for right reasons." The representative was upset that Obama didn't join other world leaders in Paris after the recent bombings in France to stand against terrorism. "I think it's fair to say that we should have sent someone with a higher profile to be there," stated White House Press Secretary Josh Earnest in a press conference on Monday. People were quick to come back at the representative with comments and some even noticed that he even spelt "Adolf" wrong. The Democratic Congressional Campaign Committee's Josh Schwerin called Weber's comparison "beyond vile and insulting," He now wants GOP leaders to condemn Weber's wrong comments.
I think it is very wrong that he made this comment about Obama. He should realize that the president is a very busy man and I believe President Obama would have joined if he didn't have something that was a more pressing matter. I hope that Representative Weber makes an apology to President Obama for his comment.
I think that is was wrong to call him Hitler, but President Obama should have made time or sent some in his place
ReplyDeleteNo they should not have called him Hitler because calling people names is wrong but still...
ReplyDeleteYour opinion is your opinion but what other important things did Obama instead of actually showing respect to the people in Paris? Another 17 day vacation to Hawaii for golfing and making a bride change their WEDDING day in order for him to go there? haha I'm just saying he could have at least sent some people, and with the governors tweet response to him it is kind of true.
ReplyDeleteI agree with Megan. He should have made time to go. Thats the bottom line. He has responsibilitys as the president and he needs to realize that bombings are more important then a two week vacation for him.
ReplyDeleteI also think that he should have visited.Still I meant it wasn't like Obama ethnically cleansed millions of people..but then again what do i know
